Ok basically in 2006 there were 5 models in Marzocchi's dirt jump range.
Dirt Jumper 1 (BEST)
Dirt Jumper 2
Dirt Jumper 3
Dirt Jam Pro
Dirt Jam Comp (WORST)
All the Dirt Jumpers were great.
However the Dirt Jam series was a huge step down in performance. They look the same but infact they aren't even made by Marzocchi. The internals are made by SR Suntour (crappy fork company)
The Dirt Jam Comp was pretty bad and suffered from nasty top out. The adjustments are poor so you need to fiddle with the oil weights to rectify this.
The Dirt Jam Pro was not great either but had internal rebound adjustment (not in 05 though) so you could fiddle with them till they were ok.
Now in 2007 Dirt Jumper 1-3s are the same but the Dirt Jumper 3.5 is infact a re-stickered Dirt Jam Pro and the Dirt Jumper 4 is a Dirt Jam Comp.
The only redeeming factor is they are often ok out of the box but do get progressively over time. So you got a bit of time to ride 'um before having to sort the oil out.
Re-naming the last two forks has put shame to the Marzocchi Dirt Jumper range.
