Re: Aston Hill is free
Whats going to happen with the insurance? Surely it will sky high. What will happen to the people who have paid for membership? I, for one, am slightly annoyed I've had to pay to go in for it to now be free. What about track maintainence? What about supervisors? Whats going to stop illegal tracks? Whats going to prevent chavs and twats? and most importantly. Where am I going to get a Pot Noodle?

Re: Aston Hill is free
tbh i think its cos dan hasnt got a fucking clue how to run a business, he sold the buckingham shop to pay for aston hill, compare the amount of customers up the hill to the amount of customers in a bike shop, hes loosing money left right and centre i reckon, now i reckon he did this so he can lay off the people who were hired to run the hill, im sure if you volunteered to do it he'd be happy with it..
all i can say is, as soon as he bought it the hill may aswell of been demolished..

Re: Aston Hill is free
thats my point exactly, why sell a bike shop thats doing well to take over aston which is starting to loose business whilst insurance rates go up.. think he did it 'cos nobody actually likes him and it would make him popular to keep it open

Re: Aston Hill is free
atleast he was making money off it, ian was gunna quit the hill before he got offered the job with the forestry comission (think it was the forestry comission?) apparently he hadnt made a profit on it for about 2years straight and the insurance kept on rising..
either way over the next 6months i reckon astons gunna be no more..

Re: Aston Hill is free
He was offered a job with the CTC apparently it was going to further spread the word of the MTB community. I'm confused because he really let Aston go in the last year with little or no maintainence, not really the spirit is it?

Not really in the spirt of things really but maybe it was a lost corse. Would be great to be able to go up them and build what you want! Would be come pretty mental very quickly though with 30f hucks into nothingness appearing in the middle of red run!

Re: Aston Hill is free
I went up there today and there was a load of kids on apollos with there parents and they just got in the way on the 4x andd one of them hurt themselves on they 3rd jump.
i think they should run itlike chicksands and pay if you are caught and have paper tape to put around the bars to show that you paid.
i would happily just take the money for BB for like
