there is an outdoor foam pit in the vario bike park near chatel in france. (can't remember the proper name for the place) was a good laugh there! especialy trying to flip a dh rig with spd's!

i guess you rode the run with the north shore in or the what seemed to be uphill downhill run there. as you come out of them instead of just heading straight down to the lift you turn right and cross the road.

in the bike park there was a couple of stepdowns but only the middle and larger ones are worth hitting. also a wallride to a little drop going into a step up then step down over a tabletop (small and bigger versions next to each other) and on the side of that table was a quarter pipe.

you could hit the foam pit from just pedalling into it or hit the stepdowns for a better run in.

on the lift back up to the top you should of crossed straight over it though. it's pretty hard to miss.
