Rob and I went down Stonecroft Trails Saturday to see how they were looking. They didn't look too bad, infact the 1st looked fine. The 2nd's takeoff looked a bit nackered but the landing was ok. We had a few goes and the 2nd's takeoff was indeed riding as bad as it looked giving a bit of as nasty kick if you went over the creator to the left hand side.
We had the tools so we decided to do a bit of digging to sort them out. The dry weather left the digging pits looking cracked and dusty. I wasn't very optimistic as to how far we'd get. Luckerly it turned out that this was only the surface, the dirt underneath in both main current pits was a nice damp clay/soil mix. Within about 5-10mins we had about 10 barrow loads. Most of it went onto the 2nd's takeoff the last 3 or so spare barrows went onto the 1st's landing and in the middle of the two to smooth out any cracks. The damp dirt packed nicely. Bull's new spade is brilliant to work with.
2nd...
1st...
Then we rode 'um:
We then had a competition to see who could pull the stupidest face over the trails... honest
Rob won I think
Hopefully now they are riding nice and it's easy to dig, we can continue to build 'um up nice n big for the summer.
Cheers to Bull for the pics. He was riding well, shame there is none of him.
