Post Boxxer vs Boxxer
Ok so i'm thinking about fork options at the moment.
My current 2003 Boxxer Teams are nackered and need sorting.

There are two options really.
To start with i dont have much money, about 250 max.

1st would be to get the new motion control cart installed into my current boxxers, keeping the 7" travel but hopefully sorting the spiking issue but may not as I think it just replaces the rebound. Admittedly that was a problem aso as i've blown the cart at least twice now.

2nd would be to get some new forks. Now i'm a bit of a tart so this is gunna sound bad but they would have to be black to go with my bike lol. Firstly no pre 05 boxxer and no manitou. So this leaves me with 06 races, 07 teams, 07 888 RC2X VA, 05 888 RC and 04 888 R. I'd rather stick with boxxers so i dont have to mess with my brakes.

I've found a set of 06 races just about in my budget. Now the question is would they be better than modified 03s? The races dont have the low/high speed adjust but would then be better than 03 teams with the old problematic low/high speed. The races would have the new lowers and i guess the potential to get upgraded to teams later. Are the 06+ races any good though?

I'd love to get some 07 teams on the cheap if anyone knows of any going?

06 races are good if you on a budget, but keep this in mind (which you probably would have) they have little to no adjustment in terms of rebound and compression which could be a bit of a pain if you want everything set right. Youve ridden my bike with the boxxers on them (and kind set them up for me  ) so you know what they are like etc.

More techy stuff :
boxxers are shorter than 888s
Weigh less (my boxxers wieghed less than my 8s)
.....

Cheers. Found some 05 888RCs too, which do you think would be better?

Youve started something now buddy, i say after riding both 8s then goin to boxxers, i say i prefer boxxers over the two. They just make the bike feel and handle so much better as the slackened of the headangle and with the compression and rebound adjustment, you can fine tune them to how you want to ride.

Andy will probs having something to say about his 888s  only jokin buddy

in all fairness though cubbage, your 8's made your bike ride like a chopper lol, i reckon that the 200mm 05's are just stupid, if you get any get the 170's

ps cubbage, where the hell were you? me and tom were well bored

I would fit the flat crowns to them for sure.

which means spending extra moolah, unless you get the 06/07 standard flat crowns for them which'd be a bit cheaper, although the ariel crowns look rather pimp..

Well I was just gunna get the marzochhi ones as they gotta be lighter. The crowns are far more expensive than I thought though. Plus the brake hastle so i mite not bother with the 8s.

Anyone here had chance to ride any 06+ races?
